“The Globalized Idiot” Architectural Design Studio (with Roberto Bottazi), Royal College of Art 2005-2006.

Payam Sharifi drafted a year-long studio course with Roberto Bottazi about using wrong and seemingly ‘idiotic’ strategies to question the positivism of architectural discourse and practice. Including precedents in film (Herzog), philosophy (Rancière), avant garde theatre (Bene, Beckett, Kantor), and literature, the course also made a research trip to Chicago and Detroit as point and counterpoint, respectively, of Modernism.
